New site online today
The new site that I have been working on is now online. Created under Mountain Goat Media, we have a site that will not only provide you with useful information on biking and hiking, but will also allow you to search for any items/equipment that you might need and get the cheapest prices available. Biking2hiking has taken some doing and still needs a bit of work, but everything is good enough to be live while the finishing touches are added.
Although I don't usually like making a site live online before it is completely finished, it needed to happen in order for us to finish this site off. Luckily the majority of the site is there and everything that is live works as it should. A few more pages need to be added and some content and the site will be done. As it is though, I'm proud enough and hopefully it can be a success.
The Price Tapestry framework hasn't been the easiest to use, but it's been useful and is a fantastic 'program' of sorts that allows you to do so much. Some customisation, like adding pricing searches (limiting items listed between a certain price range, etc), and it becomes even better. Adding my own CMS to the framework was a challenge but has been a good experience. Some of my future work will be on improving this so that more can be done through it. This won't be the last site that we create using Price Tapestry and so expanding on my CMS can only improve future sites using this framework.
